Best Aeropress Coffee Maker

There is nothing like waking up to a fresh cup of joe. Aeropress coffee makers are a type of portable espresso maker created by Alan Adler in 2005. Since its creation, this compact, easy, and affordable brewer has gained rapid popularity with coffee lovers.

Some even argue that it makes the best cup of coffee. If you want to know what gives its magic coffee flavors, it’s all in the brewing style. Hot water is poured over the fine coffee grounds, where it brews very shortly – allowing for low acidity. It then uses air pressure which releases all the coffee flavor into your cup.

The best part is, you can decide whether you want a strong espresso shot of coffee or opt for a softer cup of coffee. All you need to do is add more water.

The original Aeropress is patented, making the arrival of Aeropresses from different companies non-existent. However, that doesn’t mean it’s the only press on the market. Moreover, Aeropress itself has released one or two variants of the popular coffee maker.

Our Review of the Top Aeropress Coffee and Espresso Makers

1. Aeropress Coffee and Espresso Maker

Aeropress Coffee and Espresso Maker

This is the original Aeropress coffee maker and the best place to start. It takes 30 seconds to make a cup of joe and is easy to clean. The airtight capsule also doesn’t allow any coffee grind leakage, unlike other coffee makers such as the French press.

The Aeropress coffee maker also comes with everything you need. From a coffee scoop to a funnel, paper filters, and a flat stirrer. But don’t think that this makes it a heavy maker. This Aeropress is ideal for traveling or simply putting it in your bag and making coffee on the go. However, the Aeropress coffee maker delivers easily 1 – 3 cups of coffee in one sitting.

To make it better, the coffee grounds, as well as the paper filters, are all recyclable. While the actual Aeropress is phthalate and BPA Free, you can enjoy your coffee with a clear conscience.

This easy-to-use Aeropress coffee maker has coffee lovers raving, whether they are old or new to the community. Some remark that it even gave them a better cup of coffee than any fancy, overpriced coffee makers would have.

2. AeroPress Go

This Aeropress coffee maker serves as a small and more compact version of its brother model. Released fifteen years after the original AeroPress was released, this coffee maker took a while to find its footing in the market. This coffee maker received backlash due to the fact that it did not press the coffee as easily into a mug as the original.

On the new design of the AeroPress Go, the creators trimmed down the flanges on the plunger and the cylinder. Where the original AeroPress was easily placed over a mug and you made your coffee directly in there, this design didn’t fit as well.

However, the plunger doubles for a gooseneck kettle and pours perhaps easier than the original Aeropress coffee makers.

This Aeropress coffee maker also comes with newly designed scoops and filters to make traveling easier. It holds about 20 paper filters. Moreover, the stirrer folds up, so that it can fit in just about any nook and cranny, and the scoop has an entirely new shape.

The Aeropress Go and the Classic Aeropress produce more or less the same flavourful cup of coffee that coffee lovers adore. The only difference is, the Aeropress Go is easier to use when you are on the move. To make it a bit better, the AeroPress even comes with a mug and lid.

6. Delter Coffee Press

Delter Coffee Press

This Aeropress coffee maker is quite new to the market and may look like an AeroPress knock-off, but it brings its own value to the coffee community. The Delter Press is not as popular as the AeroPress as it was only released in 2018 and 2019. Moreover, it was first distributed solely in Australia and Asia, making its exposure limited.

One of the main differences between this Coffee Press and the AeroPress is that it has a water injection method. This means that the press only mixes the water and the coffee together when you lift the piston. This gives you a very controlled method in your coffee brewing.

This separate chamber that you put the coffee grind into allows for a sort of storage. This means you can put your coffee grind in before you leave home and all you need to do is add in the water when you are ready. This separation is caused by a jet seal which makes sure each chamber stays airtight.

The Delter press seems to reflect more a pour-over rather than Aeropress’s resemblance to a French press.

7. PalmPress Coffee Press

Resembling something like a hockey puck, this coffee maker is also very new to the coffee community. However, it is rapidly picking up popularity. This coffee maker seems to resemble the future of coffee making. It doesn’t use paper filters, pods and can fit in even your smallest handbag.

It is made from entirely BPA- free materials and protects your coffee from coming into contact with any plastic. This oddly shaped press, opens up to a dripper, so as to deliver the best coffee taste for you. It then flips over onto any mug, big or small, and works just like any coffee press. It is as easy as one, two three.

The PalmPress Coffee Press is essentially an on the go French Press, waiting to be discovered by coffee enthusiasts worldwide. It provides a rich and strong flavor as it prefers a coarse coffee grind, as opposed to the fine grind of the AeroPress.

8. Espro Ultralight Coffee Press

Espro Ultralight Coffee Press

This is a modern twist on an old fairytale sort of Coffee Press. The Espro Ultralight Coffee Press takes the concept and design of the traditionally known French Press and makes it compact and ready to use for any camping trip.

This coffee press makes use of an ultralight, durable metal casing so that you can travel with it anywhere. Even in stretchy side pockets of your hiking bag. Moreover, its durable casing allows for your cup of coffee to retain its heat. Meaning no matter where you go, you are always due for a good, hot cup of ‘jo.

Moreover, the press makes use of a double filtration system. This reduces the amount of grind spillage in your cup of coffee and lets you enjoy the smoothes and freshest cup of coffee.

Who said that quality coffee and camping don’t go together.

Coffee and Espresso Makers How-To Guide

Using the AeroPress can seem intimation at first, but it is rather simple. You first push your plunger out of its chamber. This gives you a chance to put the filter into the cap and screw it not the chamber. After placing the chamber on a mug, fill it with coffee and give it a good shake. This will help level the coffee grind.

Add the water and stir it for ten minutes and then insert the plunger, squeezing the coffee out gently. And voila, you have a cup of coffee.

When the hiss stops, you stop. When using your AeroPress you’ll hear a sweet hissing sound as you squeeze your coffee into your mug. However, the hiss stops when your plunger starts pressing onto the coffee ground. If you continue pressing her, you essentially end up squeezing out the extra flavors of the coffee. Making your cup a little biter.

The funnel is for more than just pouring your coffee grind into the AeroPress. As you begin to experiment and play with your AeroPress you’ll soon come to realize that the Funnel is much more versatile.

You can use it to help transition your coffee into a mug where your AeroPress wouldn’t necessarily fit on securely. Or, if you are brewing at home, you can use it to brew into the mug that is beneath your pour-over stand. It is designed to make your life easier.

Delter Coffee Press

With all its futuristic elements, the Delter Coffee Press may feel like a challenge. This coffee maker is much less intimidating than it seems. All you need is every coffee lover’s staple: Coffee Beans, boiled water, and a grinder.

You raise the plunger to determine exactly how much coffee you want, you then fill up the exact amount of water you want. The water and coffee contact is encouraged by a soft downward pressure. The coffee maker itself regulated the flow of water to coffee.

This coffee maker does not focus on coffee and water immersion, but rather coffee and water injection, giving your coffee a totally different taste. The best part is, you don’t need to worry about the difficult things, the Delter Coffee Press does it for you. Just plunge your coffee into your mug and enjoy.

PalmPress Coffee Press

The PalmPress coffee press is most possibly the easiest one to use. No matter how strange and confusing it may look, it is created for even the newest of coffee makers to make within ten minutes. First things first, screw off the top of the press from the bottom. Then pull out your final and fill it with a good amount of coarse ground coffee.

Pour in your boiling water with the same technique as a dripper or pour-over, until it is filled just below the top of the rim. Now screw on the top of your coffee press so that it is tightly sealed and let your coffee brew for a few minutes. When it is ready, flip over your device and press down on the top of your funnel so that your coffee squeezes into your mug.

Espro Ultralight Coffee Press

This may not seem as intimidating as the other coffee presses, considering it follows more or less the same structure as the traditional French press. None-the-less, it’s also good to know exactly what you got yourself into.

First install both your filters by screwing them onto the rod, then put three to four scoops of coarse ground coffee into your mug. Pour in your boiling water using whichever method best works for you, until you reach the ‘MAX COFFEE’ line. Then stir for a few minutes until the coffee has reached total immersion.

Place your filters onto the coffee and gently twist on the cap until the mug is completely sealed, then wait four minutes. After your time is up, slowly press down on the road until the filters hit the bottom of the mug. You can twist your sealed travel mug lid on and you can enjoy your coffee just about anywhere.

Final Thoughts

The world of coffee brewing is changing as we are evolving. We all live such busy lives and don’t always have time to brew a good cup of coffee for twenty to thirty minutes.
